Deborah Roebuck became Executive Director of the Siegel Institute for Leadership, Ethics & Character in January 2006, bringing over 25 years experience as an educator, business consultant, speaker, and author. Since she began leading the Institute, SILEC has been granted its status as an academic unit of Kennesaw State University in 2007. SILEC now delivers graduate level courses in Leadership and Ethics, and she has spearheaded the new non-degree Ethical Leadership Certificate Program. As an active consultant, teacher, and speaker to business, civic, and academic groups, she engages people of all walks of life in SILEC’s initiatives of building ethical leaders from the inside out. She has authored four books and published over 25 articles. Deborah received her Ph.D. in Business Education from Georgia State University, and holds a lifetime teaching certification from the states of Missouri and Iowa. Prior to joining SILEC, she served as chair of the Department of Leadership and Professional Development and director of the Executive MBA Program in the Coles College of Business at KSU. Deborah is the recipient of numerous recognitions including the 2007 Writer of the Year Award from the National League of American Pen Women, and Outstanding Teaching Award from Coles as a professor of organizational behavior, communication, leadership, and management. |

Ethicist, leadership management specialist, and experienced university faculty, Dr. Tom Creely is a humanities and business professional with a strong background in research, community development, crisis intervention, International operations in diverse cultures, and in developing quality of life initiatives. He has supervised and mentored Naval Officers and enlisted personnel in the Marine Corps, and served on the Secretary of the Navy's task force. Tom is a certified Axiometrics Consultant and authorized provider of CEU by International Association for Continuing Education and Training. He has developed and taught professional continuing education and training curricula in ethics, conflict resolution, strategic planning, religious diversity, and more. He earned his Ph.D. from Salve Regina University, his MBA and BBA from University of Mississippi and his MDIV from New Orleans Theological Seminary. At the Siegel Institute, Tom develops curriculum and teaches courses in the Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Ethics program and the Ethical Leadership Certificate non-degree program. He also spearheads initiatives to take Siegel Institute programs into Atlanta-area communities as well as into national programs.

Gail Carlson has served the Siegel Institute since 2002 through administrative assistant positions. Her primary responsibility is to support the Executive Director with meeting and travel coordination, correspondence, and preparation of presentations, proposals, and documentation. As the Office Manager, Gail is responsible for receptionist duties, administering the SILEC budget and coordinating general financial affairs. She also oversees student assistants, and supports the overall operation of the Institute. In June 2006, Gail was awarded recognition as KSU Staff Employee of the Month. Gail has recently completed the KSU Leadership Certificate Program. |

Karen began serving as a communication specialist for the Institute in 2006, and became the Director of Institute Relations in May 2007. She represents the Institute in activities involving community outreach, media relations, external communications, and promotion and publicity of the Institute's products, events, and services. She creates and oversees all promotional publications, presentations, and the Institute's photo and recordings library. She manages the website content and Internet marketing communications including mass emailings and newsletters. Karen serves on the Phenomenal Women's Conference advisory committee and assists with special activities like event planning. Her professional affiliations include Public Relations Society of America, Atlanta Press Club, and Religion Newswriters Association. She will complete her B.S. degree in Communication in 2008, and holds certification in Women’s Ministry through New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Karen is a published author, an active speaker and Director of her Wings of Love Ministry. |

Joann Trodahl has served in project and program coordination at the Siegel Institute since 2005. Joann serves as the Admissions Counselor for the Institute's Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Ethics, as well as the professional development courses. Her responsibilities as Program Coordinator include supporting each of SILEC’s initiatives with tactical coordination and implementation, from events to the academic and non-degree programs now offered by SILEC. Her keen attention to logistics details has contributed to the success of SILEC’s Why Leadership and Ethics Matter Speaker Series, the Phenomenal Women’s Conferences, and numerous Institute programs and events. Joann graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. degree in sociology at Kennesaw State University in 2004. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and serves on KSU’s Staff Senate. Prior to joining the Siegel Institute, she served in administrative assistant positions at KSU’s CAREing Center. |

Patricia Watson joined the Institute's teaching team in the fall of 2007 to launch and manage our new online Ethical Leadership Certificate program. Her master's degree in Business Administration and years of experience in diverse professional roles brings valuable expertise to her role at the Siegel Institute. Patricia holds 15 years of experience as a faculty member, including teaching at North Metro Tech as well as University of Phoenix in Atlanta. She earned her MBA degree from Kennesaw State University and a B.S. in English from Wayne State University, Detroit. |

Dr. Betty L. Siegel, the first woman to head an institution in the 35-unit University System of Georgia, and the longest serving woman president of a public university in the nation, was president of Kennesaw State from 1981 until July of 2006. Under her administration, the university evolved from a four-year college to its current university status.In 2002, she established the Center for Leadership, Ethics & Character which was then renamed the RTM Center for Leadership, Ethics & Character upon its $1 million endowment to the Center. The Board of Regents awarded Institute status to the Center, and in recognition of the influence and leadership of President Siegel, the institute was renamed in her honor as the Siegel Institute for Leadership, Ethics and Character. As President Emeritus since 2006, she also holds the Siegel Institute Distinguished Chair where she continues an array of special initiatives with a global perspective on social responsibility and excellence in leadership education.

Susan serves as the Executive Secretary for the International Alliance of Invitational Education as well as a publications specialist for the Siegel Institute Endowed Chair, Dr. Betty Siegel. As IAIE Secretary, she coordinates promotion, planning, registrations, treasury functions, and logistics for IAIE national and international conferences. As the publications specialist, Susan has produced brochures, newsletters and other promotional materials for the Siegel Institute. Susan has given presentations on IAIE activities. She has assisted with numerous Siegel Insititute community-outreach events, including serving on the committee for Cobb County Schools Character Education Collaboration and Character Education mini-conference. |
